We attended Roblox RDC 2026, the annual developer conference, and we came back very excited. Roblox announced many new features, and several of them will change how people make, find and play games on the platform. So, here are the updates that stood out to us.

Moments

First, Roblox introduced Moments, a Reels-like social feed inside the platform. Players can watch short clips and then jump straight into the games behind them. As a result, we believe Moments will bring much more traffic to games, especially to new titles that need discovery.

2D, 2.5D and Orthographic Camera

In addition, Roblox now supports 2D and 2.5D games, along with an orthographic camera. Because of this, developers can build genres that were hard to make on Roblox before, for example side-scrollers, top-down games and puzzle games.

Roblox Wallet and Card

Next, Roblox launched Roblox Wallet and the Roblox Card. With these, Roblox connects directly to the real financial system. Therefore, spending on the platform becomes easier and more familiar for both players and parents.

Roblox Reality and Build AI

Similarly, Roblox Reality and Build AI help creators build worlds and content much faster. In our view, these tools will increase engagement and, at the same time, bring many new players and creators to the platform.

Standalone Roblox Games

However, the most exciting update for us is standalone games. Soon, developers will build a game on Roblox and then publish it on other platforms as well. In other words, one platform, many stores.

Roblox in the Web Browser

Finally, players can now open Roblox games directly in a web browser, without any download. This removes a big barrier, so new players can try a game much more easily.
